We were very pleased to have Jeff design and project manage our building works.
Jeff is very skilled and experienced and came up with designs for our extension which exceeded our expectations and were far from what we had originally envisaged. We had hoped for a larger kitchen, but we ended up with a fantastic living area which looks good and is larger than we would have thought, and which has completely transformed our house and our day to day living.
We asked him to project manage the build too, through the necessary planning approvals and contractor selection and then through the actual build process. His calm and considered approach and extensive experience made the whole project run very smoothly, and kept us calm at what could have been a very fraught time in our lives! He took a lot of the stress away from us working with the various contractors and advising us throughout the process, and the project completed pretty much on time/budget/quality.
His knowledge and experience also helped save us money on the whole build project and without his advice we probably could not have achieved what we did within our budget.

We worked with Webber Associates from concept through to execution of our city centre retail store. The store was quite complex and our ideas unusual, but Jeff was able to bring them to life and turn thoughts in our heads into a real design that both looked great and worked.

Along with Webber Associates we were commissioned by Bristol City Council as a part of the design team for two new control rooms – one as a traffic control centre and the other for security camera installation and monitoring.
In each case the projects were both complex and challenging in their nature with fibre optic cabling terminating in banks of display screens. Jeff approached the challenges in a calm and professional manner and brought them to a pleasing conclusion on time and on budget. We are happy to recommend the practice and would be pleased to work with them again.

I have no reservations in recommending Jeff Webber, of Webber Associates, to anyone who has a building project - whether small or large. We have used Jeff's services a number of times over the years for substantial, and complex, building work on our Victorian semi. Once for a large loft conversion and, more recently, for a two story extension to the rear of our property. This included underpinning the party wall, excavating a basement and removal of substantial parts of our external walls (with associated reinforcement).
After being frustrated with the designs from a couple of architectural designers we commissioned, we approached Jeff to see if he could translate our thoughts into something we could be happy with. The great thing about Jeff is that he thinks about the solutions you want, and then translates them in an innovative way into a design that works both practically and architecturally.
We would never have thought about interlocking curves for the roof line, but it is a now great feature, inside and out. Jeff is also an excellent all-rounder - he assisted us with planning permission, building control, commissioning a structural engineer, drawing up the contract, tendering, selection of contractor, project management and troubleshooting throughout the works.
As well as saving us money on the building contract and ensuring the quality of the work, he helped us with such things as heating problems, and advised us on suppliers of flooring, etc. Nothing is too much trouble for Jeff. It was great to have such a wide pool of experience there when we needed him.

We have worked with Webber Associates on two separate projects, the first of which was for the design of a new block of sixteen flats and the second of eight flats. In the first instance the design was innovative and made best use of the land and views whilst recognising the constraints of the existing built environment.
Webber Associates helped us greatly with some difficulties we were experiencing relating to the block of eight flats which had been designed by a different architectural practice. Jeff quickly identified the problems and worked hard to find solutions and also gave invaluable advice during a period of litigation to mitigate our losses.

We wanted a 6-figure house improvement, including new kitchen, sun room, patio area and loft conversion, including an en-suite bathroom. Jeff was great, listening to us and turning our vision into reality – just what we wanted.

We had kind of hit a wall with the Council regarding our plans for a new Cat Wing at Viking Vets.
We had simply got a no! Back in the day you could go downtown and have a face-to-face meeting with a real live planner and go through an especially useful process called pre-planning. This was excellent as it gave you a chance to work with the planners and find a happy medium that suited both parties. Some genius had obviously thought that this was far to helpful and had done away with pre-planning.
Jeff was a client of ours and he and Maria got talking during a consultation and Jeff very quickly became our architectural designer. Jeff came up with a brand new and very fresh design which we liked immediately, very contemporary and in complete contrast to the rest of the building. But this is what the planners wanted. To cut a long story short Jeff managed to secure planning in a noticeably short amount of time.
Jeff really took over the project then. He dealt with the Planners, building control, HSE, made sure we complied with all the signage and regulation that is part of any building project these days.
Jeff also sourced the contractor who carried out the construction and dealt with them directly. We were still involved in the project, but the heavy lifting had been removed which looking back made the whole project doable.
Without Jeff’s input there would be no Cat Wing at Viking Vets!

There are many things to consider when looking for an architectural designer for your next project, experience, portfolio, but for me, the most important quality is to find someone you feel comfortable working with and can interact well with.
A good building is an amalgamation of ideas and never totally one person’s creation. A good designer is there to help you get your ideas built. Projects can be a hard journey and you will need all the professional support you can get along the way.
